MHC: Ratoath fall to Longwood
Ratoath 3-08
Longwood 3-12
On a perfect day for hurling the two teams served up a superb game of hurling.
After several minutes play with both defences on top, Conor McGill burst in from centre half forward to smash a Ratoath goal. Longwood struck back with a point before Ciaran O'Hanrahan hit his second point. Ratoath had a second goal from a Stephen Cooper free when the ball bobbled through a melee of players to roll into the back of the net but Longwood responded with a goal to leave it 2-2 to 1-4 at the break.
A second controversial goal by Longwood that had a touch of square ball about it put the visitors in the driving seat and a third goal late on sealed the win.
For Ratoath's minor hurlers, the shield final awaits.
