Tribesmen suffer Armstrong blow

Galway could be without key attacker Sean Armstrong for the remainder of their National Football League campaign due to the hamstring injury he picked up in Saturday's defeat to Cork.

Armstrong, who captained the Tribesmen in the game at Pairc Ui Rinn, was withdrawn after just 11 minutes after suffering the injury and manager Joe Kernan cited his loss as a big blow in the 1-19 to 1-17 defeat.

"I was very happy with how we started but once Sean got injured we seemed to lose our shape," said Kernan.

"We have to wait 48 hours to see, but it is a hamstring tear and he could be out for anything between three and seven weeks."
