McGrath close to return for Fermanagh
Fermanagh manager Malachy O'Rourke has revealed that star midfielder Marty McGrath could make his first appearance for the Erne County in this Sunday's NFL game against Louth at Enniskillen.
McGrath has been out of action since undergoing surgery at the end of last year to correct a tendinitis problem, but returned to training recently and could play a part against the Wee men depending on his progress in training this week.
"He wasn't fit for Saturday night's game (against Antrim) and we're hoping, with a week's training behind him, that he could have some part to play on Sunday. But, we are not sure of that," said O'Rourke.
"With games coming so quickly it is just a case of monitoring the boys from training session to training session. We will not be able to decide until later in the week. We would certainly be hoping that we would have a bigger pool to pick from for the Louth game."
On the weekend's defeat to the Saffrons, who lead Division Three on six points, O'Rourke confirmed that missed chances let his side down again.
"We didn't put the scores on the board during the periods of pressure.
"We were punished for that. We just have to keep working hard and hope that it will turn around," added the Derrylin man.
